How We Test AI Tools
Every review on AI1102 follows the same process. We don’t rewrite vendor pages, and we don’t publish reviews based on screenshots from a landing page. Here’s exactly what happens before a review goes live.
Our 7-Step Testing Process
- Buy or get real access. We sign up for the tool with our own account. Free trials count only if we actually use them for real work.
- Use it for at least 7 days. Most reviews come from weeks of daily use, not an afternoon with a trial.
- Run real tests. We generate real outputs — voiceovers, videos, images, articles, emails — and keep the failures too.
- Compare against alternatives. Every review lists what we compared against and why we picked what we did.
- Score on 5 criteria. Quality, ease of use, value for money, reliability, and support.
- Document genuine cons. If something is annoying, expensive, or broken, we say so. That’s the point.
- Update the “last tested” date. AI tools change fast. We re-test before major updates and refresh dates.
What We Never Do
- We never publish a review for payment. Editorial verdicts are not for sale.
- We never rewrite a vendor’s marketing page as “hands-on experience.”
- We never remove a real criticism because a vendor asked us to.
- We don’t test a tool “in theory.” If we couldn’t verify a claim, we say we couldn’t.
